What are some good dance competition duo songs?

15th September 2009

Hi! My friend and I are going to be doing a jazz duo this year in a dance competition. We will be around the 12-13 age division. We need a song that is something new, something fresh. Please not a song that is very overused at competition. We are strong dancers so anything can work. Thanks for your opinions! *please list song name and artist! Thanks!

My Strongest Suit- Aida (starts slow, but tempo changes…good for a dancer with strong turns and jumps…this is slowly beginning to become more popular in competitions though)
Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That- Robert Randolph
Boys Boys Boys- Lady Gaga
Heartbreaker- MSTRKRFT featuring John Legend
It’s Oh So Quiet- Bjork (really cute…fun to choreograph too)
Supermassive Black Hole- from Twilight
Bye Bye Love- it’s from All That Jazz
Sweet Dreams- Eurythmics
Canned Heat- Jamiroqui
Just Disturbia- Rihanna and Lady Gaga
Church- T-Pain (despite the fact that it’s hip hop, it has more of a jazz count)
Don’t Stop Me Now- Queen
Paint it Black- Rolling Stones
One Night Only- Beyonce
Livin’ La Vida Loca- Ricky Martin
Chaotic- Britney Spears
You Should Be Dancing- the BeeGee’s
Die Another Day- Madonna
Mein Herr- Cabaret
Too Darn Hot- Kiss Me, Kate (this would have to be cut)
Dream On- Aerosmith
Free Your Mind- En Vouge
You Can Leave Your Hat On- Etta James
Do Somethin’- Britney Spears
Distortion- david guetta
Rhythm of the Night- from Moulin Rouge
Cha Cha Heels- Rosabel
Theme from Oceans Eleven

If you could find an appropriate song from MGMT, that would be awesome. They have a strong, funky beat, and would allow for lots of different choreographic styles.
