Kashmir is known as the paradise on earth. The beauty of Kashmir lures tourists from every nook of the world. This region has many attractive destinations like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Leh, Zanskar, Kargil, Patnitop, etc. As the state of Jammu and Kashmir experiences a number of bombings and political issues every year so traveler should take extreme caution, monitor news before coming to this beautiful land.

Srinagar is the capital of Kashmir and is known as the city of lakes. This city is famous for Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens and Hazratbal Shrine. The river Jhelum spreads within the city. The main attraction of Srinagar is Dal Lake which comprises of a series of lakes. The house boat and shikara ride are the main attractions of Srinagar. Gulmarg and Pahalgan are two other major attractions of Kashmir. Gulmarg is famous for its grassy knolls and wild flowers. Pahalgaon is considered as one of the romantic mountain resorts of Kashmir. Kashmir is really a wonderful place. Since ages it has been praising, once Mughal emperor Jahangir described the place as Jannath (paradise).

Another excellent and famous place of Kashmir is Kargil. The drive from Srinagar to Kargil is very exciting and thrilling. The only way to get in Kargil is by road. The main pass between Kargil and Srinagar are likely to be blocked by snow from November to May. But the road between Kargil and Drass is open almost throughout the year. The most popular attraction of Kargil is the archery competition which is held in the month of May. The Buddhist monastery of Mulbek Gompa is a famous attraction in Kargil for its magnificent murals and statues. Kargil is famous for its apricots and delicious apricot jam. In your Jammu and Kashmir travel you can taste a different spice of life which is called paradise.

Leh is the capital of Ladakh, an amaizingly beautiful place. It is the favourite place of the adventure lovers and culture enthusiasts. This cold desert is famous for Buddhist monasteries. It is a land of Lamas. It is the most remote region of Himalayan Kingdom. Ladakh is described as the ‘land of high passes’. Leh Palace in Leh is an exotic spot.

The life style of Kashmiri people are very slow paced. They love to enjoy their local music and dance. They are religious minded. Kashmiri cuisines are very tasty. They like both vegetables and non veg. They make mutton in different ways. Kashmiri chai with saffron is a special tea to them.

Kashmiri are known for their intricate hand work and brass work. Kashmir is famous for its handicrafts and craftmanship. Kashmiri Pashmina shawls, local carpets and woolen handicrafts are world famous and they suit every pockets. There are walnut wood accessories and stone jewelry are sold in huge numbers.

There is not a single person who does not want to visit this tantalizing paradise. But due to the political reason it is still to become a easily accessible holiday spot to the tourists of the world. The Government of India is taking enough steps to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and maintain safety to the tourists.

    Can someone help me with travel to India?
    I am travelling to India with a friend. We are wanting to go to Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh Manali, Agra, Jaipur, Udaypur, Ladakh, Goa, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kerala. (sorry about any mis spellings)
    I was wondering in which order we should go to these places. Ive tried looking at maps but cant see all the places on there.

    You should land somewhere in South India from where you can start your trip. Best possible way to go for this trip will be

    Kerala-> Goa->Mumbai-> Udaipur->Jaipur-> Agra->Delhi->Manali-> Himachal Pradesh-> Jammu Kashmir-> Ladakh
    and then in the end you will have to come back to leh from where you can get a flight back to Delhi and all international flights and domestic flights are available in Delhi.
