Practice for the US Pole dance competition

26th May

This is one of my many practice sessions for the competition, I am not exactly performing it full on, but you can at least get the idea of what my routine was suppose to be like. Of course, I fell off the pole trying to get into my leg grip into Ayisha, which NEVER happened to me before, so the rest of the routine was off. Oh well, I guess I was thinking too much instead of just doing it. But here it is, kinda the way it should have been.

*This video showcases the competition directors, Stephanie Ramos & Aaron Eliazar’s dance talent by a compilation of several dance videos of the two, which also includes a sample of their choreography*

For more info about these dancers, read below:

Aaron Eliazar is a hip-hop dancer and b-boy from Waipahu, Hawaii. He started his dancing at the age of five when he got influenced by his older brothers. It was then when he freely discovered the art of break dancing. Since then, Aaron began his break dance training just from following in his brothers’ footsteps. It was during his middle school years when he began to excel in that art.
Soon after, Aaron began his formal training and performing with Hypersquad Dance Company under the direction of Jason Ulep during his freshman year of high school, training in hip-hop and jazz. He had done several concerts with the studio including shows such as “Seven,” “Infiniti,” and “Ikon” between the years of 2005 to 2007. Aaron had also competed with Hypersquad in a local dance competition, “Hawaii International Dance Festival.” During his years with Hypersquad, Aaron had also competed in a few break dancing events. Among them are “Genesis,” “Crossroads,” and “Civil War” where he had made the finals in one of the following events. From then on, Aaron continued his dancing by contributing his choreography works in private and public performances or events such as graduation parties, debutante balls, and many more community performances.
Currently, Aaron is not representing any dance studios or other dance projects but he is still keeping his talent strong by individually pursuing goals for himself as a dancer. He plans to improve his talent in dance in order to be the best dancer he can be. Aaron also hopes to inspire others through his gift of dancing by his undying drive, hard work, and passion.

Stephanie Ramos is a hip-hop dancer and choreographer from Waipahu, Hawaii. She began her dance training in 2003 with Studio 808 Danceproject under the former direction of Kamalani Wilson and current direction of Don Baluran & Shane Gilia. She has been trained in their junior and senior hip-hop company. Stephanie has performed in public and private performances, concerts, and competitions till 2008, when she began her teaching journey with the studio as a student istant and is now currently working as one of the studio’s choreographers.
During her high school years, she has trained in other dance styles including hula and has performed in high school and outside functions with her fellow peers, including Waipahu High School’s Hsquad Dance Team in affiliation to Hypersquad Dance Company. Stephanie has also experienced performing for various dance projects such as a music video for local recording artist, Jewla in 2005 and the internationally known Philippine game show, “Wowowee: Live in Hawaii” in May 2008. She has also danced with Studio 808 in two of the past “Movement” concerts which featured dance groups from MTV’s hit show,”America’s Best Dance Crew” where she received the opportunity to perform alongside Mike Song of season one finalist, Kaba Modern.
You can find Stephanie’s choreography and performance works in studio projects as well as other community and private functions. She plans to continue her passion for dance in hopes of inspiring others to experience the joys that dance has to offer and explore the talents that God has blessed them with. Stephanie strives to strengthen her growth as a dancer and choreographer because she believes that everyone should go above and beyond with anything that they are passionate about.
